Katelyn went and stayed with my parents the sunday before Halloween through that Thursday. Sunday night they went to a halloween festival at Kimberly's church. Mom said they had a blast. Here are some pictures Kimberly took.

Halloween Night- Katelyn went trick or treating with Brayden and Taylor this year. They had a hayride for the kids and they rode in the golf cart some too. She came home with LOTS of candy. Im so glad she had so much fun. We missed her so much but knew she was in good hands with her Nana, Pawpaw, Aunt Kimmie, Uncle Rusty, Brayden, and Taylor.

So alot has happened in the past few weeks.. to start things off Karly Brooke Simpson was born Oct 20, 2011 at 1:52 pm. She was 4 lbs 13 oz and 18 inches long. They had to take her b/c I had severe preclampsia and they couldn't get my blood pressure to go down. She was 5 weeks early. But even being that early she has been doing so great! And she sure has one proud big sister. Love my girls so much.

Katelyn's first soccer game was last night. She had alot of fun. We were so proud of her. She is one of the youngest and smallest on the team so we were worried she might be scared to get knocked over and such but she did great. She loved looking to the sidelines to make sure everyone was watching her. She had several people come watch her first game and that made her so happy. Grandaddy and Nana Wanda, Aunt Trish, Aunt Tina, Uncle Benjie, knox, and peyton all came to watch her.

Soccer has FINALLY started and Katelyn is loving it. We have had 2 practices so far. There are only 3 girls on the team on the rest boys. Here are some pictures.

She is loving it so far. Her games start sometime the first week in October. She insisted on Michael and I calling her "soccer girl". The games should be interesting to the say the least, There are a few on her team that played last year but the majority of them are playing for the first time. They are so little and so cute playing.

Katelyn's 4th birthday party

Katelyn's 4th birthday fell on a sunday this year so on friday we took chocolate sprinkled cupcakes (that the both of us made) to her preschool. She loved putting the sprinkles on the cupcakes.

So Katelyn told us Friday night that "the birthday girl got put in timeout" I was a little shocked.. don't get me wrong..she acts up but most of the time her acting up is with me and michael.. she is TERRIFIED to get in trouble anywhere besides home. Well she said she didn't cry b/c the whole class got put in timeout b/c they didn't clean up after her birthday party. I talked with another little girl in the class the next day and she said the same thing. So I just told Katelyn to listen to the teacher and clean up when she says too. Her first time in timeout was on her bday celebration.. so of course i couldn't get too mad at her.

On Saturday we celebrated her birthday at JUMP in tupelo with some of her friends. The kids all seemed to have a great time.

Andie Kate and Katelyn- they are in the same class at preschool last year and again this year. We hear about Andie Kate alot at our house.

Today Katelyn started her 2nd year of preschool. She absolutely loved it last year so I knew she would love it again this year. We had to wake her up a little earlier than normal but she woke up in the best mood. She was ready to go by 7:25, she had to wait on me to finish getting ready though. She is growing up so fast. I asked her if she was scared or nervous and she of course her response was NO. She told us that she wanted Daddy and Mommy to take her to school this morning.. so of course we said that was good with us. Well when we pull in the parking lot she said "I will walk in by myself" It killed me!! But we went in anyway, its her first day!!! here are some pictures.

Michael's mom aka Granny and 2 of our nieces and 1 nephew came from Alabama to visit. We had a great time with them. Katelyn enjoyed putting everyone in timeout. It was good to see them it had been since Christmas. We hope they will come visit again soon.

Ok so I have been majorly slacking with the blogging. I know I need to do better on this. Here are some new pictures.. more to come later

Katelyn at Nana and Papaws house. She spent the whole week with my parents last week in Madison. I missed her so much I could hardly stand it. I knew I would enjoy the peace and quiet at our house but after a day I was ready for her to come back. I know she had a blast. But when I got there on friday she was so excited to see me and gave me like 100 hugs and kisses.

She has been very attached to me ever since the beginning of the pregnancy. She has grown up so much since my last post.. She will be 4 at the end of August. She is about to start her 2nd year of preschool. She loves to sing and play and loves to be the center of attention at all times. She tends to get a little jealous if she thinks the world is not revolving around her.

We went to the beach this summer with Michael's family. We had a blast. Katelyn loved every minute of it. Here are some pictures (thanks Erin) I accidentally deleted all of my 200 pictures on my camera.

While we were at the beach we had our "gender reveal party" for baby SIMPSON. We were so excited for everyone to find out its another girl. No one was more excited than Big Sister Katelyn. Bless her heart she only wanted a baby sister. She told me if it was a boy she was going to kick him out of our house. She wanted a little princess to take care of.

The Flu

Katelyn started running fever saturday while over at Nana and Grandaddy's house. I didn't think anything of it b/c i figured it was just a cold. Well Sunday night she woke up at 3 and was throwing up and she was burning up but shivering.. so i figured it might be the flu. Michael took her to the dr on monday and sure enough Katelyn has the flu. You sure wouldn't be able to tell by looking at her or being around her. She hasn't missed a beat.

Thanksgiving weekend

My mom and Mamaw came to see us the weekend before Thanksgiving to help me get my Christmas stuff up at my house and they took Katelyn back to Madison with them to spend the week. Michael and I went to Madison after I got off work on Wednesday. We had a great time. It was good to see my family and I especially had fun shopping on black friday. Its a tradition in my family that mom and I always get up really early and go shopping.. well this year Belk and JCPenney opened up at 4 so we were there at 4.. I got majority of my shopping done.. YAY!! Katelyn had such a great time at her Nana and Pawpaws. She got lots of playtime with Brayden and Taylor and of course got spoiled rotten all week. We had a hard time leaving on sunday. She didn't want to come back home with me and michael. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

A few weekends ago we went to Starkville to tailgate with our friends. We had a great time. We went to mugshots to eat with Erin, Chris, Reed and my parents and brayden. Katelyn was terrified of bully. So we didn't get a good picture of the two of them.. Maybe next year.

I haven't updated this since Easter and alot has been going on. So here are a few updates from the month of April

We went to our friend Will Chittom's 1st birthday party.. He is such a sweet little boy. Katelyn went to go give him a kiss and he wasn't too sure about that.. I guess katelyn likes the younger guys.. haha.

My parents were in town that weekend.. Of course Katelyn was spoiled rotten all weekend. Katelyn's cousin Reed came over to play that night. They had alot of fun together.

Let the spoiling begin.. what katelyn you want coke at 8 at night.. SURE your papaw will give it you. Katelyn do you want to drink sweet tea in the morning with your breakfast.. SURE your papaw will let you.. Her papaw will give her anything she wants.. i guess that is what grandparents are for. She loves when they come to visit. She already knows how to work them. HA HA

Hanging with the boys.. Katelyn loves to be around her cousins Kyle, Dan, Easton, and Luke. They treat her like a little sister. She loves these boys.

And last but certainly not least .. My nephew Reed's 2nd birthday party. The theme was Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. We had so much fun. Katelyn really loves Mickey Mouse. Reed has so much fun stuff to play with.

Hopefully in the next week or so i can get to the month of May.

Oh and a special shout out to one of my best friends in the whole world who happens to also be my sis in law now.. Erin.. her 28th birthday was May 26th. Happy Birthday!!! Erin thanks for being a great sister in law and an even better best friend.. Thanks for always being there for me. It means alot to me. LOVE YOU!! Here is a picture of the all the girls since i don't have a recent one of just the two of us.

Easter

We started off the Easter Break by trying to get Katelyn to go see the Easter Bunny. She got all dressed up in her pretty dress and we did her hair.. Well all that for NOTHING. She was scared of the Easter Bunny. She started screaming crying as soon as she saw him. So we decided we weren't going to make her sit in his lap if she didn't want to.. So when he took a break we took a picture of her in his chair. that is as close as she would get.

My new niece

Katelyn and I went to Madison on Wednesday afternoon b/c my sister was having her little girl on Thursday. She was born Thursday morning around 9 (Kimberly had to have an emergency csection). Taylor Olivia was 6 lbs 11 oz and 19 3/4 inches long. She looks just like her brother Brayden did when he was born. She is so beautiful. And so far she is very quiet.. not fussy at all. We stayed in Madison until Sunday so we could spend as much time with Taylor as we could because we probably won't be back until the end of May. We also got to spend alot of time with Nana and Paw Paw. Katelyn has changed Papaws name to "Paw Paw".. She had the best time with them and her cousin Brayden. We had such a great time.

Michael and I took Katelyn to Buffalo Park in Tupelo on Friday. We went in the morning and it was really chilly. She wasn't really that into it but as time went by she liked it more and more. Things she didn't like ... the Bear scared her to death.. and she wasn't big on the giraffe. I figured she would love the giraffe but it scared her too..She loved the bus ride and loved the zebras.. she wouldn't feed them but she waved to them and said "Bye Bye zeeba"

My dad (Papaw) came to visit on Tuesday on his way to Arkansas. Katelyn had such a great visit. She was a little confused on where Nana was. She is so used to always seeing them together. We went to Madison 2 weeks ago for my sisters baby shower. She is having a little girl Taylor Olivia Johnson. We are so excited for her to get here. Valentines Day and visiting Knox

Katelyn was actually sick on Valentines Day. She has been congested for a while so we finally took her to the doctor on Friday and he heard her cough and tested her for RSV.. luckily she didn't have it. She just had a bad cold. Well it turns out the antibiotic he gave her made her sick.. she was throwing up and having some really bad diapers... She was sick all saturday and sunday.. poor thing. She is better now.. the Dr changed her medicine. We gave her the valentines cards and her happies. Thanks Mamaw (my grandmother) and Nana and Papaw for the valentines day cards.. That was so sweet of yall to remember Katelyn.

Michael and I went to go see Knox today.. He has grown so much since he was born. He still has a head full of hair. He is a sweet sweet baby. We got to feed him. My sister in law Tina had her baby on Feb 4th. He is so cute with a full head of dark hair. We went up to the hospital to meet him. He is a little fighter. He came early but still managed to only have to stay in the hospital for a week. Here are some pictures. We are so glad that you are doing great now Knox. We love you.

Reading a book with Uncle Jack. Jack came over the other night and Katelyn loves to sit in your lap and point out all of the animals in the book to you. She is also talking alot more. She has always been a talker but some of her words are actually making sense now. She says "thats dada" and "thats mama".. the other day she pointed to me and said "my mama".. it melted my heart. She is a sweet girl, BUT like EVERY other child she knows how to throw a tantrum when she doesn't get her way.

I know I haven't blogged in a while. Not much has been going on since Christmas. We took Katelyn to Chuck E Cheese in Tupelo. We went with Michael's sister Trish and her 4 boys. I think Katelyn had more fun watching the boys play their games. And she enjoyed the pizza too.

My parents came to visit last weekend. We went to eat at Outback Saturday night.. It was great. Katelyn was so good. She ate a grilled cheese and some mashed potatoes. We were very proud of her on her first visit to Outback. Here she is on the way back all bundled up and getting tired.
When we got back she wanted her Papaw to read to her. She loves books hopefully that means she will be smart.

Here are some of Katelyns favorite things.. to get in her toybox and to lay on her pillow and watch barney.
Katelyn has been getting in her toy box lately. She even likes to look at her books while in the toybox.

Tonight we had spaghetti for supper. We decided to just let her feed herself. And here are the results. We always a fun and messy time when we eat spaghetti.

Last Family christmas and New Years Eve

The Sunday after christmas we had Christmas with Michael's Mom and grandparents and his brother and sisters families. We had a great time seeing everyone.

Granny (Michaels mom) gave Katelyn a Radio Flyer turtle. She loves it. Thanks Granny you did great.

Of course the day wouldn't have been complete without a Guitar Hero tournament between the Boren's (Michaels sisters family) and the Simpsons. Michael and I beat all of them... They have been practicing up some and have beat us since then.

Christmas 2008

We went to Madison on Tuesday to spend Christmas with my family. We took Katelyn Christmas Eve night to see the lights in Canton. If you have ever been to Canton around Christmas time you know why.. The whole square is lite up.. its so nice. She LOVED it.

After we got back from Canton we ate and got ready for bed. We got Santa's milk and cookies ready.

We always had a tradition growing up of opening one present on Christmas Eve night so we decided to let Katelyn open one. She got a princess crown and earrings. Now she is really a princess.

It was funny because when we were passing out the presents they didn't have one and they ran over to the christmas tree looking through all the presents to see where theirs were. After the others had opened their presents they took them to the bedroom where the bikes were. They love them.

Going to see Santa

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while.. here are some updates.. We celebrated Daddys bday on Dec 7.. he is an old man now.. 28.

Last weekend we took Katelyn to the mall in Tupelo to see Santa. We had her all dressed up and ready. We got to the mall around 1 and go straight to see Santa and of course he was "feeding his reindeer" from 1-2. So we went and walked the mall for an hour and Katelyn wanted to be a big girl and walk.. We finally distracted her with the little rides. She had a blast.

I don't have a scanner so I can't post the Santa picture. But lets just say that Katelyn wasn't a big fan of Santa. She was doing so good when we were standing in line(for an hour). She would point to him and say "san ta".. Even when we got really close to next in line she saw him and started smiling and wanted to get down and walk over to him. But when our turn came I carried her over to him and she clinched the back of my arm and i knew that was it.. she was going to scream and boy did she. I think the whole mall heard her. In her picture she was red faced with a wide open mouth and tears coming down her cheeks.. we have it on our fridge. I laugh everytime I see it. Hopefully she won't cry next year.. We have michaels family christmas party this weekend so I will post more pictures next week.

Katelyn and I went to Madison for over a week to visit with famiy and of course to go shopping the day after thanksgiving. It was a rough week. It started off great we went shopping and got her picture made with Santa. Well the sunday before thanksgiving she started feeling bad I took her to the dr and she had a double ear infection. Then Tuesday night she started throwing up and running 103 fever. So I took her back to the dr and she had the stomach virus. So from Tuesday to Saturday she wouldn't eat a thing. Thanksgiving day she felt the worst she was too weak to even walk. It broke my heart to see her this way. Dad kept her while me and mom and my aunt, uncle, and cousins went shopping at 4:30 in the morning. Yeah we were crazy.. but its tradition and I will have you know that ALL of my Christmas shopping except for Michael and Katelyn is done.. YEAH. Katelyn finally started feeling better on Saturday and has been fine ever since.. Here are some pictures..

Brayden is always such a big help with Katelyn. He is going the be the best big brother to Taylor. This was after we went to see Santa and he wanted to push her in the stroller.

While we were in town we went to go see Mamaw. We had a great time visiting with her. Brayden and Katelyn loved playing in all the leaves.

Papaw cooked us a great meal on sunday night. Mommy got a steak.. YUM YUM. As you can see Katelyn not only enjoyed her meal but after she ate hers she decided she wanted some of Papaws too. Her Papaw spoils her.

On Wednesday my gran and my aunt, uncle, and cousins came in town. We had so much fun with them. These pictures were before Katelyn started feeling really bad.

Thanksgiving day.. this is the day that Katelyn was so weak she couldn't even walk. I think I held her all day.. She slept alot too. Look how pitiful. Doesn't that break your heart? Don't look at how horrible I look. I had a rough night with Katelyn the night before.

We cooked out friday night at my sisters house. Here are a few pictures.

It was a great trip and we can't wait to visit again over Christmas. Hopefully we won't be sick next time.

We took Katelyn to the mall in Tupelo on Saturday to ride the carosuel and they built a new play area for kids that we wanted to take her to. She loved the caroseul. We had a great time. The mall was pretty crowded.

Here is what has been going on with us lately.

Katelyn had tonsilities last week. She has been sick on and off for like 3 weeks and it turns out that she was "misdiagnosed" at first. But she is now feeling alot better. They took her blood and gave her a shot and antibiotic. She was a trooper though. She couldn't stand having the bandaid on her finger though. She looked so pitiful I couldn't help but to take some pictures.

Playing with a pair of Daddy's safety glasses is an everyday thing for Katelyn. She will bring them to me to put on her then laugh at herself when she has them on. She's not vain.. haha

Its never to early to start traditions. We have a house divided. I am a HUGE state fan and my husband a huge Alabama fan. If you are a state fan..you teach your child all about the cowbell. I have 2... No i haven't yet bought Katelyn her own. I have one that my dad gave me that he had when he went to state that he redid for me and I have one from my best friend Emily's wedding. I started teaching her some state cheers this week so she can cheer on the bulldogs against Alabama. Whenever I ring the cowbell she starts clapping and laughing. I knew she would grow up a bulldog!! These pictures sure make her momma proud. Hopefully next football season we will make it to an actual game and I will buy a small cowbell for her to ring.

Of course when I first gave it to her she put it in her mouth and realized that it didn't taste very good.

We had a great weekend except that Michael had to work all weekend. So me and Katelyn were on our own. Saturday we went to my nephew Peyton's birthday party at his basketball gym. We had a great time. Katelyn kept wanting to go out and play basketball with all the big boys. She got kinda mad when momma wouldn't let her. I was scared she was going to get knocked over.

We had a great weekend. Katelyn was Tinkerbell for Halloween. My parents came to visit. Katelyn loved seeing her Nana and Papaw. She pretty much ignored Michael and I. We went to the Fall festival at our church and just hung out and played all weekend. Thanks Nana and Papaw for coming to visit. We miss yall.

Living in Booneville

So I haven't blogged lately b/c my computer was all messed up. We finally bit the bullet and got a new one. Over the past few weeks we moved into an apartment that was way TOO SMALL and needless to say I didn't like it very much. So a week later we moved into a rent house and I have been working on getting that fixed up. We really like the house. I will post pictures of the house later.

So I have decided to go ahead and move to Booneville. NO I do not have a job yet. But I figure it will be easier to find one once I get there. So if anyone knows of any jobs around the booneville, tupelo, corinth area LET ME KNOW. Full time or Part time. It will be so nice to be with Michael again. Its been a long 10 weeks apart. We will be leaving for Booneville Thursday morning to see the apartment Michael got us and get settled in. I might not have internet access for a few days. Not sure yet so don't get on to me for not blogging like i should (erin and candy). We have Margo's baby shower this weekend. I can't wait to see everyone. I will be posting pictures from that when i get back.

Today is Michael and my 3 yr annivesary. We don't get to see each other until Saturday in Starkville b/c we STILL don't live in the same town. He sent me some pink roses today at work. Katelyn and me miss him ALOT. Thanks for being a great husband and father. I can't wait till we live in the same town again whether it be Booneville or if he ends up moving back to Jackson.

Katelyns 1st birthday

This day last year I was in the hospital preparing to have Katelyn Marie. Its sad how time flies by so fast. This has by far been the best year of my life. Today our little princess turns "ONE". She woke up this morning at 6:05 (which by the way is GREAT for her) and I went and got her out of the crib and we got her cinnamon eggos ready and put a candle in them and me and mom sang Happy Birthday to her. She liked it but she was ready to eat. I made her some chocolate cupcakes to take over to her babysitters house today. And we will continue the birthday celebration when I pick her up this afternoon. So i will have some more pictures to post tommorrow but here are some from this morning!! There was only one thing missing from this morning.. her daddy.. daddy we missed you and we can't wait to see you tommorrow!

We had a small party at my parents house this weekend for Katelyn. Her big party is this coming weekend in Booneville. It was just my parents, my sisters family, us, mamaw, and my moms cousin and her grandaughter. Brayden (my nephew) brought his big slide and we had a little baby pool with a slide for Katelyn. She was more interested in riding in the wagon and the jeep than anything else.

So as you know right now Katelyn and I are living with my parents. Well last night my dad was mowing the grass well katelyn was just staring at him. So i asked Dad if she could ride with him. She loved it. Then we had the great idea to attach the wagon to the back of the lawnmower so he could pull her around. Michael comes home today so Im sure he will want to take her for a ride on the lawnmower too. Have a great weekend.

Moving, Walking, Pigtails, and Booneville

Sorry its been so long since the last post. We have been extremely busy. We moved out of our house the weekend of the 8th. Here are some pictures of the guys moving stuff in the truck and some pictures of katelyn giving some sugar to her cousin Kyle. She loves her some Kyle. I was holding her and she nearly jumped out of my arms to go to kyle then she kept giving him kiss after kiss.

So Katelyn has started walking all over the place. She is into EVERYTHING. Pretty soon we are going to have to put child locks on all the cabinets. These are a few pictures of her walking.. i did the best i could to get some action shots but she is too quick for me. Also we have been putting her hair in pigtails lately.. i think it is too cute! It is very hard to do b/c she is such a wiggle worm.

We also went to Booneville this weekend to see Michael. We had such a good time. Thank you to Nana, Grandaddy, Aunt Trish, and Aunt Tina for keeping Katelyn and Reed while Michael, me, Erin, and Chris went to Pickwick with some friends. We are moving out of our house this weekend. I am happy about it but also sad. This is the house that Michael and I built ourselves and this is the house that we brought Katelyn home to. This is the only house Katelyn has known. It has been kinda sad packing up boxes and leaving that house. But we are starting a new chapter of our lives. Well not quite yet considering I haven't found a job yet. But hopefully I will have something pretty soon. I will post some pictures of the move this weekend. And special thanks to my brother in law Brad for coming to help us move. Thanks Brad your the best!!!

Also Katelyn is starting to walk. She has been trying a little bit for the last few weeks but she has been sick some this week and I stayed home with her and she was just walking all over the place. Once she realized that she was walking without holding onto anything she would get scared and just fall down. It will be just a matter of time now and she will be running all over the place. I have been trying to get some pictures of her in action.

We gave Katelyn some spaghetti last night and let her feed herself. It became a big mess. She started off good then as you can see she decided to pick the bowl up and lick it so it got all over her forehead. Needless to say she went straight to the tub after eating. She is like her daddy and loves spaghetti. Also notice how nice and neat Brayden was while he was eating his spaghetti. Brayden said "Katelyn is messy" .. you got that right!! ALSO Katelyn misses her Daddy.. he is now in booneville working at his new job at Caterpillar. We hope to be there really soon!

Girls Trip to the Beach

We had a great time in Gulf Shores. It was so good getting to see everyone and hang out at the beach and the pool. We went friday night and had some "very strong" margaritas on a yacht with Captain Larry. They were strong for this light weight momma that never drinks anymore.

Friday morning we are headed for Gulf Shores. My best friends from college and me are going to Gulf Shores for our 1st annual Girls Trip. I am so excited. No hubbies and no kids.. just us girls relaxing on the beach and catching up. This is LONG overdue. It so good when we can all get together. I will of course miss Michael and Katelyn ALOT but this mom needs a break. I will post pictures when I get back. Wish me luck because this will be my first time away from Katelyn for longer than one night. She will be with her daddy so she is in good hands. Also Michael leaves for Booneville on Sunday to start his new job.

This weekend was my nephew Brayden's 4th birthday party.. We weren't able to go b/c we were going out of town so we went over to see Brayden the week of his birthday.

We went to Booneville Friday night and stayed with Michaels parents. We had a family reunion on Saturday and also a suprise bday party for his stepmom. She turned 50. We had all kinds of great gag gifts and an over the hill sash for her to wear. We had a great time. It was really hott so we were pooped afterwards. Katelyn slept almost the whole way home. MOVING TO BOONEVILLE

So Michael got a job at Catepillar in Booneville, MS. He starts on July 21st. this means no more working on the weekends.. YEAH. Katelyn and me are staying in Jackson until we can sell our house and until I find a job. So if anyone knows of anything around the Tupelo, booneville, corinth area.. LET ME KNOW. We are really excited, this is a great job for Michael and Cat is a great company to work for.

We had a great 4th. Katelyn got in the swimming pool, rode around in braydens jeep, ate popsicles, and we had a princess birthday party to go to. We found what we are getting katelyn for her birthday.. its a pink little car that I can push her around in. She loved it so much that she didn't want to get out. i had to bribe her with food to keep her from screaming in toysrus.

My sister gave us her old swingset when they got a new one. Katelyn loves it. She had so much fun on it. As you can see her hair is blowing everywhere!!! She is teething right now. She has a third bottom tooth coming in and her top two teeth. Luckily she has not been waking up during the night lately... KNOCK ON WOOD!! But last night I gave her motrin, teething tablets, and oragel just to make sure she would be ok and that i could sleep. haha
